colette sadler

Sadler trained in Classical ballet with Cecilia Barrett at The Scottish Ballet and then in London with Judy Maden and Julia Farron.She later completed a BA (hons) in dance theatre at the Laban Centre, London, and was a member of Transitions dance company from 1994-1995. She has since 95 worked for choreographers including Divas (Liz Aggiss / Billie Cowie), Jeremy James, Wayne MacGregor, Gary Stevens ,Ted Stoffer, Amanda Miller and Cia Vicente Saez (1997-2000).
A founding member of New Moves International Choreographic Core, she received a British Council award in 1996 to study in New York and at ‘Le Groupe de La Place Royale’ in Ottawa, Canada, under the mentorship of Peter Boneham.

In 2002 she participated in the Mugaxtoan interdisciplinary performance workshop and in 2003 was awarded a Scottish Arts Council ‘Creative Scotland Award ‘ and artist‘s residency at Le Cite Internationale Des Arts Paris. She has been invited to speak on various panels and forums, including the ‘Becks New Futures‘ 2005 award for contemporary art and the Scottish Cultural Commission artists charter.

Choreographic works include ‘Minataur‘ 1997, ‘Body Document‘ 2002 ‘Corps/responding‘ 2004, ‘Reasons to Go On‘ 2004 and ‘DdumY’2005.
Choreographic direction includes a video for Glasgow pop musicians Belle and Sebastian (Rough Trade Records) and ‘should have had the fish‘ Edinburgh festival 2006 with writer and performer pauline Goldsmith
